More than thirty minors have been rescued from trafficking in the St. Louis area to date this year…
According to the FBI, a national sting recently saved 149 children. In spite of those figures, local agencies who assist victims and survivors say they are short on resources. A Human Trafficking Task Force heard concerns from a dozen people during a hearing last week. Christine McDonald, an author and advocate, explained: “How did she get there? I think that always has to be the question. Not why are you doing this or why did you do that but how did you get here.” McDonald was sold into sex trafficking as a teenager.
