Florida’s Agricultural Labor Trafficking

For more than twenty years, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers in central Florida has been a trailblazer against human trafficking in the agricultural industry…

They use a 3-point strategy by bringing together farmers and workers and retail food corporations with the goal of protecting at-risk workers from forced labor…and to assure fair wages and better working conditions.  This sort of abuse in the U.S. nets traffickers $226 billion annually.  Because of the Coalition’s efforts, 1,200 trafficked victims have been rescued.
